Route day 3
Altitude profile day 3
From the Sattele to the Feldringalm
A shuttle takes you in the morning to the station Sattele (1,690 m). From there onwards, you walk the gentle path of the mountain Pirchkogel towards the mountain hut Feldringalm. The initial forest road leads through a conifer forest until you have reached the traditional Tyrolean Feldringalm. In doing so you will cross rich Alpine meadows, which are especially during early summer, sprinkled with numerous colourful flowers. Enjoy a fresh beverage on the sunny terrace of the charming Alpine hut before continuing to the Pirchkogel.
Ascent to the Pirchkogel (2,828 m)
From the Feldringalm onwards you follow the signposted track towards the summit – the panoramic Pirchkogel. Shortly before reaching the peak, some boulder fields need to be crossed. Well done! Nothing prevents you now from enjoying the panoramic view from all sides: from the summit of the mountain Zugspitze in the North to the glaciers of the main Alpine ridge.
Descent via Dortmunder Hütte
After you have reached the summit, take your time and relish the moment, then start your descent towards the region Kühtai. Near the end you will pass the Alpine hut Dortmunder Hütte, which invites you to linger. The traditional house belongs to the Alpine Association and is located at the outskirts of Kühtai at 1,950 m. It is famous for good service and traditional Tyrolean food. An excellent opportunity for celebrating today‘ s peak victory.
